It’s official! BMW Motorrad has sent out “Block Your Dates” media invites for the launch of its highly anticipated motorcycle – the BMW G 310 R and the G 310 GS on July 18. The launch event is scheduled at 12:15 PM.
The bookings for the two motorcycle, however, have already begun since June 8 and customers can rush to their nearest BMW Motorrad showroom to book their G 310 for a token amount of ₹50,000. Deliveries will be done on a first come first serve basis as per orders.
Both the models are currently manufactured at TVS Motor Company’s plant located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS will be sold and serviced through the premium dealer network of BMW Motorrad that is present across important centers in India including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, and Kochi. BMW Motorrad’s upcoming dealerships in Chandigarh and Kolkata will start accepting bookings of the motorcycles post-launch.
The India bound models will be identical to the export spec motorcycles. The two BMW motorcycles, R and GS are powered by the same engine, same chassis, but with different end games. The R is a naked street motorcycle, while the GS is more of an adventure tourer. The four-stroke engine is a 312.2cc, single-cylinder 4-valve DOHC which churns out 28 Nm of torque and 34 PS power. The engine is liquid-cooled, fuel-injected and reverse inclined so the fuel enters from the front with the exhaust port at the back, mated to a 6-Speed gearbox. The bike gets USD telescopic forks with a preload adjustable rear monoshock as standard, with Dual-Channel ABS.
Expect the pricing to be around ₹3.5-4 lakh, ex-showroom.
